ZTE usher in technology and business allies Announcing its leadership as 5G service provider in Thailand

Thailand is currently undergoing a major change under its digital economic policy. The announcement relating to Thailand 4.0 drives changes and expectations by many involved parties. ZTE reacted by organizing ZTE Summit 2017 that includes bringing 5G business allies from overseas, for example, China, Japan, South Korea and Europe to showcase 5G innovation and technology to revolutionize the industry format for interested local operators and allies whilst advancing Thailand to become a leader in 5G technology in Asia Pacific.

Mr. Zhiming Han, President of ZTE (Thailand) Co., Ltd., remarked that 5G technology is the buzzword in conversation at every corner of the world. The technology has been tested and successfully operated in several countries. ZTE is very hopeful to be taking part in advancing Thailand to meet the government’s policy by paying the highest attention to Thailand among all ASEAN countries. ZTE is fully prepared to provide full services under 5G technology as and when the adoption of the technology is announced. In emphasizing 5G leadership in Thailand through organizing ZTE Summit 2017, the company aims to lay the foundation and build understanding of the innovative 5G technology by presenting the system in which ZTE has successfully operated overseas, for example, Japan, S. Korea, Italy etc.

The ZTE Summit 2017 includes presentation of in-depth information by the management and industry experts, local as well as foreigners, showcasing innovations and new technology supporting 5G with actual examples that have been in operation overseas, for instance, the joint development of 5G with China Mobile and Japan’s Softbank. The event will give the opportunity to the concerned parties in the industry locally, such as NBTC, AIS, TRUE, TOT and CAT Telecom, to meet ZTE’s overseas business allies, for example, GSMA, China Unicom and Qualcomm. ZTE has reserved areas to exhibit 5G full-service solutions including future digital technology driven by 5G for the event attendants to experience first-hand, for example, 5G video streaming that demonstrates the capability to connect 5G network continuously at the maximum utilization capacity of 2 gigabytes. Apart from this, there will be presentation of intelligent parking system, water, electricity and energy meter system for smart city and smart home to cater to the lifestyles of people in the digital age, enhancing convenience and simplicity.

ZTE has started working on R & D and pioneered 5G technology since 2009 with a budget of not less than USD 1.5 billion, involving several thousand experts, in order to be in the vanguard and build 5G standards including specifying the architectural requirements, building necessary technological networks, product development, technical audit, participating in specifying standards & patents and in developing the products from industrial applications to efficient 5G ecosystems in order to drive down cost continuously.

Notable is ZTE’s track records in being the first company in the world to develop 5G system and participate in testing 5G system fidelity for the Chinese government. In the first phase, ZTE is the first vendor to audit the new 5G technology based on its outstanding capability. The company has signed agreements as 5G service provider with leading global operators such as China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom (China), Softbank (Japan), KT (S. Korea), Telefonica (Spain), Deutsche Telecom (Germany), Telenet Orange (France) and WindTre (Italy). As for the Thai market, ZTE has already been operating for more than 10 years and aims to be the market leader in 5G full-service technology.
