THAI Smile Disinfects Aircrafts to Prevent Novel Coronavirus

THAI Smile Airways has sprayed disinfectant and cleaned inside its aircrafts bound for Suvarnabhumi Airport on three routes including Hong Kong-Bangkok, Kaohsiung-Bangkok, and Phuket-Bangkok in an effort to prevent the novel coronavirus from spreading at a hangar of Thai Airways International Pcl. at Suvarnabhumi airport. THAI Smile also suspends all flights to and from mainland China including Bangkok- Chongqing, Bangkok-Changsha, and Bangkok-Zhengzhou from 1 – 29 February 2020. The recent cleaning activity is one of the airline’s seven measures aimed at preventing the virus and giving passengers confidence in flying with THAI Smile.

The seven measures of THAI Smile mainly concern passenger service and hygiene to ensure the highest level of hygiene onboard and on ground. The seven measures are: 1. Passenger screening and ground service measures 2. Inflight service measures 3. Aircraft preparation and disinfection measures. The aircraft is to undergo disinfection for a total of 45 minutes beginning from the moment that the last cabin crew member disembarks the aircraft, whereby the aircraft must be sprayed with disinfectant solution for 15 minutes and then closed for an incubation period of 30 minutes 4. Aircraft interior cleaning measures and employee hygiene 5. Employee preventive and precautionary measures 6. Cargo and commercial mail transportation measures 7. Meal preparation measures. THAI Smile is monitoring and keeping abreast of the information related to the risks of coronavirus transmission from meat. Meat and vegetables susceptible to the risks will be replaced immediately.
