‘THE GREAT INDIA EDUCATION FAIR’ GIVES EASY ACCESS TO EDUCATION IN INDIA

February, 2019, Bangkok – Educators from India’s top residential schools, universities, colleges and English learning centres are meeting students and parents in Thailand on the 16th & 17th of February (Sat-Sun) for “The Great India Education Fair” in Bangkok.

In its twelfth successful year, the informative two-day event is being held on the weekend of 16th – 17th February, 2019, at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok. Attracting thousands each year, the fair is from 10.00 am to 7.00 pm on both days. The event will be showcasing the many benefits of an education in India which is geared for Thais, Thai-Indians and Indians living in Thailand.

The 2019 fair will welcome over 50 of the best educational institutions from across India, a sign of the strong ties between Thailand and India in terms of studying abroad. Studying in India is highly valued internationally due to the country’s quality of education and high academic achievements.
Other benefits of an Indian education that will be highlighted at ‘The Great India Education Fair’ are the attractive fees.

Sanjeev Bolia, Founder and Managing Director of AFAIRS, says the financial advantages are clear for parents and students. “For example, a three-year degree in Business Management or the Liberal Arts degree would on average be around USD 10,000 in India. This includes tuition and living expenses. In comparison to other markets such as the UK it would be four times and six times more at a university in the USA.”

The Great India Education Fair is a real opportunity for parents and students alike to meet educators face to face and receive invaluable advice on courses. Furthermore, they can ask about the application process and admissions, as well as information about student accommodations. On-the-spot admissions are accepted in some cases from Standard III to Bachelor and Master degree level.

The event is an ideal platform for those attendees who view the merits of a more global education.
In Thailand, India has a solid reputation for its academic prowess, Sanjeev Bolia explains. “Parents in Thailand are keen to give their children the best education possible. Thus, we are seeing a rise in the number of Thai students studying in international residential schools, colleges and universities in India. Seen as respectable and valuable, Indian education empowers students for future success and enabling them to gain a foothold on the competitive, global job market with well-paid career opportunities ahead.”

During the Bangkok fair, other advantages of studying in India will be shared with parents and students. With the fair’s twelve-year history, the calibre of participants is second-to-none and the quality of teaching staff and mentoring, as well as facilities for students are impressive. Safe and secure boarding facilities are key, along with the ability for students to experience a good quality of life that balances education with healthy outdoor activities and sports. Academic and personal developments are at the core of an Indian education.

Residential schools in India participating in this year’s fair offer students’ international curricula, such as the International Baccalaureate (IB), IGCSE and the Cambridge International Examination (CIE), along with the Indian ICSE and CBSE board curricula. These include renowned schools such as Woodstock School (Mussoorie), Mussoorie International School, Genesis Global School (Delhi NCR), Unison World School (Dehradun), The International School Bangalore, Ebenezer International School (Bangalore), Greenwood High (Bangalore), Neerja Modi School (Jaipur), The White School (Calicut), Jayshree Periwal International School (Jaipur), Mody School (Rajasthan), Indian Public School (Dehradun) and many more.

The universities represented at The Great India Education Fair this February offers students an interesting and varied array of undergraduate bachelor and postgraduate master degrees. These include such diverse subjects as medicine, management, IT, engineering and animation. Some of the universities attending include Christ University (Bangalore), Amity University (Kolkata), Chandigarh University (Punjab), Acharya Institutes (Bangalore), Kiit University (Bhubaneswar) and many more.

The Great India Education Fair has become a much-anticipated event on the educational calendar, attracting a wider and greater number of attendees and participants each year. Thailand and India, in the past decade has seen a strengthening between the two countries in terms of trade and investment.

It is expected that more and more students from Thailand will regard studying in India as a preferred option to further their educational aspirations and career goals. With many Indians residing in Thailand, there is also a strong connection with Indians living abroad to return to the roots for their education.

The Great India Education Fair is supported by the India-Thai Chamber of Commerce, Indian Social Club and the Indian Association of Thailand.

More than 500 educational institutions from India have been a part of TGIEF till date, reaching over 2.5 million attendees in total from Thailand, South Korea, UAE, Oman, Malaysia, Nepal Bangladesh, Bhutan and Sri Lanka. The fair is planning to extend its reach even further in the future, with plans to host in other markets in South East Asia & Africa.
