Thai Dog Wins Worldwide Walkin’ Pets Calendar Contest!

Coke, a Thai rescue dog, is one of 13 winners in the 3rd annual worldwide Walkin’ Pets by HandicappedPets.com calendar contest, featuring dogs using wheelchairs. The popular contest helps spread awareness of how specially-abled pets can live active lives. The winners were selected by popular vote on Facebook during the month of August out of a pool of 238 contestants from 31 countries and 40 U.S. states, all photographed using their Walkin’ Wheels wheelchairs.

Coke was rescued several years ago in Laem Mae Phim, Rayong, by Michael Baines, who works as a chef in Thailand. The very popular Coke has now won the worldwide calendar contest for the third straight year; Coke was on the cover of the 2016 and 2017 calendars. The Walkin’ Wheels wheelchair used by the dogs gives them a second chance to enjoy an active life despite mobility challenges.

Michael Baines is known in Thailand as “The Man that Rescues Dogs.” He helps hundreds of dogs on a daily basis to find food, shelter, and medical care. More information about Michael’s rescue work and how to help support it can be found on his Facebook page: facebook.com/themanthatrescuesdogs.
