Loosely translated as “float a basket”, Loy Kratong is one of Thailand’s most picturesque and enjoyable festivals. The basket, or “Kratong”, often carrying personal items such as a lock of hair, is sent out over water as a symbol of letting go past transgressions and negative thoughts.
The festival takes place on the evening of the full moon in November, and this year Dust Thani Krabi Beach Resort will be celebrating with its own Loy Kratong Night on Saturday 22nd November, from 6:00 p.m. onwards. Kratongs can be floated on our lake and there is plenty of entertainment laid on for all the family, including live music from our house band, a Fire Show and a traditional Thai dance performance. An impressive spread of delicious Thai cuisine will make sure guests do not go hungry!
