Gyproc awarded Level 4 Green Industry Award, Green Culture from the Thai Ministry of Industry

Thai Gypsum Products Public Company Limited, the first gypsum manufacturer in Thailand and innovator of the leading brand “Gyproc”, has been awarded the Green Industry Award Level 4 (Green Culture) from the Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry. The award was bestowed on the company for Gyproc’s industry-leading Laem Chabang manufacturing facility which excellently implements environmentally friendly processes in all aspects of its operations. This drive towards green operations became part of Gyproc’s organizational culture for social responsibility and transparency. The awards event was held at Makawan Rangsan Room, the Army Club, Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, and was presided over by Mr. Somchai Harnhirun, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Industry.
The criteria of the Department of Industrial Works uses to consider the award winners are the organization’s encouragement for all staff to work with environmental friendliness in mind until it becomes culturally ingrained. Gyproc’s operations always comply with environmental regulations to offer innovative solutions in response to towards today’s core challenges of growth, energy efficiency and environmental protection following the vision of the organization. One of the outstanding projects under this initiative is the “Laem Chabang Recycling Project”, a community plant that was developed in conjunction with Gyproc. The plant produces concrete paving blocks from recycled residues to create production of tangible benefit to the local area.
