Exhibition “Urban Nature” Solo Exhibition by Manoon Khunlor
Koi Art Gallery is proud to present “Urban Nature” a solo exhibition to be held from May 13 – June 30, 2016. This exhibition showcases the latest abstract artworks by Manoon Khunlor.
It’s a well-known story of a young man leaving his hometown in the suburbs and going into the chaotic city in hopes of finding something bigger than himself.Thai artist Manoon Khunlor paints the essence of his personal journey from Isan to Bangkok through his abstract works. They show the serenity of rural landscapes with peaceful, bright colors and the chaotic & addictive life of the city with the same zeal onto his canvas.
His works however, are not simply about the landscapes. He seeks to showcase the contrast between the two – how people react in these two spaces and the way it seamlessly dictates each individual’s point of view. With skillful strokes, Manoon captures the wandering soul’s hesitancy, desires, and experiences. Bright yellow skies with orange & violet hues bring peace into the viewer’s mind and also re-energizes the wall it inhabits. The canvas radiates positive energy like a dolphin swimming fearlessly through the ocean. Each painting creates a persona that viewers can identify with.
With a love for movement, Manoon’s works calls viewers to take a closer look at their lines and let color’s energies seep into their mind.
