Baraquda Pattaya & Mercure Pattaya Visit Hand to Hand Foundation
Giving back to the community is an important part of every business or organization. As part of our quarterly CSR program for 2018, on 19th of May, 2018, the management team of Baraquda Pattaya & Mercure Pattaya visited the Hand to Hand foundation. The Hand to Hand foundation is a place that provides a home for orphans, abused children and children who have no care givers. It provides them with their basic needs of food shelter and clothing as well as an opportunity to get an education. It also ensures that they are provided with health services, counseling and psychological support, as well as care and assistance for families affected by HIV/AIDS.
The team was attending their scholarship party, where they had over 120 students graduating from different classes in different age groups. It was their annual scholarship party and was the perfect occasion for the 2 hotels to be involved and contribute as much as we can. The team was greeted by Khun Margaret and Khun Pai, who are the leaders of this organization, as they took us for a tour of the foundation. We were shown around the house, and got an opportunity to meet the parents and relatives of some of the children as well. The team distributed a number of food supplies, played with the children, and also had a special photo ops session with them. Our supplies included food, water and books for the children as well as a bunch of snacks that we served at the party.
We were reminded that personally volunteering your service to a charity can be so much more powerful and gratifying than just making a monetary donation. Our team’s visit helped bring joy to and provide important emotional support for children who have the misfortune of having a difficult life growing up. The enthusiastic support of our team showed an amazing spirit of giving and team spirit that cried out, “One Dream, One Team!” It was an honor to be a part of such an inspiring place and we look forward to engaging in more activities with them in future.
