A group of leaders and team members from Anantara Phuket Villas and Anantara Vacation Club, Phuket, gathered in Mai Khao today and collected more than 20 sacks of garbage from the hedgerows that border the entrance to the resorts, as part of an ongoing campaign to ‘Keep Phuket Clean’. “This is the second of many litter picking activities we have planned over the next few months,” said Nik Priesnitz, General Manager, “but this one was particularly important for us, because it has a direct impact on our guests’ experience and their overall image of our hotels and our brand.” He went on to explain, “Many of our guests will walk, cycle or drive along this road and will notice the hundreds of plastic cups and glass bottles which litter the hedgerows in the land adjacent to ours. While the land itself does not belong to us, we feel it is our duty to clean it up, because if we don’t do it, nobody will.”
The Anantara team will be visiting and cleaning up a different location every week, as part of the ‘Keep Phuket Clean’ campaign. Watch this space for more updates.
