In response to the devastation caused by the dam collapse in Attapeu, a southeastern province of Laos, AccorHotels donated US$10,000 to the Lao Red Cross to support immediate disaster relief efforts and to assist with emergency measures in the areas affected by the dam collapse. On behalf of AccorHotels, Mr Jean Marc LaFosse, General Manager for Pullman Luang Prabang and Area General Manager for Laos, handed over the donation to Dr. Viengsavanh Kaseumsuk, Head of Lao Red Cross.
“We are saddened by the disaster which had affected the people in Laos. Our hearts are with the victims and their families and we hope that we can extend some assistance to those affected by the disaster and contribute to the rescue efforts,” said Patrick Basset, AccorHotels’ Chief Operating Officer for Upper Southeast & Northeast Asia and the Maldives.
The donation reaffirms AccorHotels’ commitment to work hand-in-hand with local communities for a positive impact.
