Bangkok – 26 September 2018 – Dusit Thani Bangkok represented by Titiya Xuto, Vice President Operations – Thailand and General Manager, recently organized a successful fashion presentation with an Afternoon Tea of Thai savouries and sweets at the Lobby Lounge.
‘Timeless Elegance’, the 3rd event organized by the hotel under its closing campaign “The Timeless Legend”, was a fashion presentation of Thai crafted and precious heritage costumes dating back from the beginning of the Ayutthaya period to Rattanakosin and the present Siamese era.
Guests had a feast on admiring the intricate beauty and design of the traditional costumes of the royal family and the high court society created and designed by talented period costumes designer, Dr. Surat Jongda, considered as one of the key authorities in Thai period costumes and who curated the show as well; they were mesmerized by the glittering silk and gleaming gold and silver threads, the colourful embroidery and the unique patterns on the antique clothes and textiles from the private collection of Paothong Thongchua, a renowned historian who specializes in traditional Thai fabrics; they were fascinated by the precious period gold ornaments from the private collections of Puttapong Piancharean; they admired the Thai costumes designed by Dr. Veeratham Trakulguenthai with ancient royal court patterns as well as Thai costumes designed by Adhit Dhirakittiwat, one of the top Thai designers; and appreciated the collections of Peeramon Chomdhavat, who designs traditional Thai classical dance costumes and who is also the artistic director and founder of the Arpon-Ngam Dance Theatre, with members who performed a couple of Thai dances.
