THAI Smile receives a certificate from International Air Transport Association (IATA), reinforcing its leading regional airline in Thailand that provides full services

THAI Smile Airways has received a certificate from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) after receiving IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) in September 2017, for which THAI Smile has passed the assessment process to measure the safety standards of rendering aviation services in all processes. Being a member of IATA will enable THAI Smile to have higher aviation capabilities both in terms of reliability from passengers as well as the opportunity to execute aviation agreements using a code shared with international airlines and to increase sales and marketing opportunities for THAI Smile’s routes.

Mrs Charita Leelayuth, Acting Chief Executive Officer of THAI Smile Airways, said that THAI Smile had received the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certificate from IATA in late 2017, which reinforces the efficiency of the management system and the flight operations of THAI Smile with world-class safety standards. Moreover, it is accepted by other airlines around the world. Over the past years, THAI Smile committed to provide services that take into account the optimal level of safety of passengers as well as all operations staff. This is in line with the vision and mission of the company that aims to provide excellent services to our passengers and we will continue to strive to improve our services as well as safety standards.
In addition, after becoming a full member of IATA, it will allow us the opportunity to expand more routes as well as make a flight agreement using a common flight code (Code Share) with international airlines. It is not only increases the opportunity for passengers to get access to our services from other international routes but also adds more opportunities and competitiveness to market. Moreover, it will enable our airline to become a regional airline of Thai Airways International that provides full services more effectively. It is currently under negotiation to open a flight under the Code Share with many other leading airlines.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is an international organization operated by the global private sector. It is established in 1945 in Havana of Cuba with the aim to promote air transport safety and compliance to economic principle, find ways for cooperation between member airlines to enhance air transport service standards, as well as issue Tag Code for airlines worldwide. At present, there are 294 member airlines. THAI Smile is one of five latest airlines acquiring membership.

At present, The airline fleet consists of 20 Airbus- A320-200 with the operation bases located at Suvarnabhumi International Airport with more than 60 flights per day. And it has delivered overall services more than 16 million passengers from around the world. Currently, THAI Smile Airways operates in 10 domestic destinations: Chiang Mai, Phuket, Khon Kaen, Chiang Rai, Hat-Yai, Ubon Ratchathani, Udon thani, Surat thani, Narathiwat and Krabi. THAI Smile also provides cross-region services Chiang Mai and Phuket. For international routes, THAI Smile also operates 20 international flights to Yangon, Mandalay, Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, Vientiane, Luang Prabang, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Jaipur, Lucknow, Gaya, Varanasi, Mumbai, Zhengzhou, Chongqing, Changsha, Guangzhou, Kaohsiung, Bangkok- Hong Kong and Phuket- Hong Kong with a plan to further increase the flight frequency of domestic and launch new international routes.
