For foodies, non-meat eaters and anyone particularly interested in Thai-Chinese cuisine, Thailand’s annual Vegetarian Festival – which runs from the evening of October 8 until October 17 – is an event definitely not to be missed.
Also known as the ‘Nine Emperor Gods Festival’, this 9-day veggie feast is celebrated across Bangkok, as well as in major cities up and down the country (especially Phuket).
While the best of the action can be witnessed in the capital’s very own Chinatown (locally known as ‘Yaowarat’), you can also experience this vegetarian food festival in some more refined settings at The World restaurant Centara Grand at CentralWorld, located right in the heart of Bangkok above CentralWorld.
Our special a la carte Vegetarian Festival runs from 9 – 17 October 2018 with prices starting from just THB 180++ per dish, (plus government tax and service charges).
This year, our chefs at The World have created some Thai-inspired dishes to enjoy – minus the meat! Some of their creations include Tom Yum Hed Ruam (spicy Thai-style tom yum soup with mushrooms); Gaeng Jued Tao Hoo Sarai (tofu with seaweed soup); Tao Hoo Thod (deep-fried tofu; Gaeng Kiew Wan Pak (green curry vegetable in coconut milk); and Pad Thai Je (a vegetable version of Thailand’s classic Pad Thai).
